What if Goku was the final villain of the manga?

You know, something like Goku getting possessed by some evil being and causing the destruction of the Universe.

I think that it would have been really cool if a saga revolving around this instead of the Boo saga. Goku vs. Gohan would have been a great final battle (father vs. son). Still, as much as I like it, I'd imagine that a lot of people would be put off by it. I mean, the character they've grown to love so much being made into a villain? Even if it's somebody else possessing him, I think a lot of people wouldn't like it.

I think it's a good idea, but those kind of things only work at fanfics IMO, you must either have a great plot and explanation of how it happened or it will end up as a failure. I would like the idea for such a saga in GT for example.

I got one.

Quote:

After Goku sacrifices his life against Cell, he learns of the Other World Tournament and trains for it. The winner of the tournament is to receive "special one-on-one training" from the Grand Kai, but in reality, Grand Kai plans on taking control of the winner's body in order become strong enough to destroy the Universe. The reason why the Grand Kai wants to destroy the Universe is because he wants to create a new and better one in its place (so he's like an anti-villain of some sort). And so, Goku wins the tournament and gets his body taken over by the Grand Kai, who proceeds to devastate the whole Universe.

What y'all think? :D

Good idea, but how exactly would Grand Kai create a new universe after he destroys it? Theres need to be even more explanation to that, you could say he just wanted to be the strongest and greatest ruler of both living and dead world.

He's already the main villain of the Boo Saga together with Vegeta, the two do all the problems

Vegeta goes Majin because of a mid life crisis
Goku indulges Vegeta and toys with him, despite the world being at stake
Vegeta knocks out Goku to fight Boo by himself, killing himself in the process
Goku toys against Boo and Babidi. Just kill Babidi, threat gone.
He lies to Piccolo about his power
His throw of the earrings sucks so much that Gohan can't catch it
Vegeta suggests using the Spirit Bomb instead of just reviving Mystic Gohan and bringing him there to kick Kid Boo's a***

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all a conspiracy and they're clinking glasses afterwards about how good of a job they did trolling everyone

Also, Goku sending Gohan out against Cell was spectacularly douchey
"Hey, 9 year old son, go fight a psychopathic android. Oh, and let me heal him first. What? You are getting your a*** kicked, just keep doing that, you'll get mad"

Grand Kai could have had the ability to create new planets, like the Supreme Kai (I read somewhere that they're the Gods of Creation; they create worlds, whereas the God of Destruction destroys them).

Well i dont think Grand Kai can create planets, Supreme Kai and the other Superme Kaioshin's can, Grand Kai just overlooks the 4 sides of the universe.

Well, before Battle of Gods, you could have used the explanation that:

The special training is done by the current God of Destruction of that universe. The god sees how powerful Goku already is and thus takes his body and sets out to destroy worlds.

That could have set up a good final arc kind of similar to the very start of GT, with Gohan and probably one or two others chasing Goku through the galaxy, before getting powerful enough to take him on and having the final battle, and having Goku wrestle back control of his body momentarily granting defeat to the god, and refusing to stay alive so that the god dies with him, essentially making him the final hero, too.

The Grand Kai could have written so he/she had the ability to create planets.

That is correct, but BOG dismishes that theory, stating that Kaioshin and the other fellow kaioshin's are the gods of creation. Just saying but why not make a kaioshin take over Goku's body instead of Grand Kai? That could work even now at the canon timeline.

I can picture Toriyama doing something like that. That is since he went as far as having Goku's body possessed by a different being, while he was in another body himself. What I'm saying is, it's not too crazy if you break it all down.

Yeah, but I really think it would have been much better if there were no Supreme Kais or Gods of Destruction. What I really dislike about Dragonball is how they keep on bringing in god after god after god. First, we thought Kami was the mightiest. Then, there's King Kai. Then, there are the other King Kais. Then, there is Grand Kai. Then, there is Supreme Kai. Then, there is Old Kai. Then, there is God of the Destruction. And now there's gonna be a "Supreme Kai of Time" in Xenoverse. It's really tedious. I really think it should have only went up to Grand Kai.

Though I like it, judging by the amount of effort AT's putting in the series lately, it'd likely come off as bad fanfiction. If it wasn't being done by AT, I could see it being on FFN. I really could.

Toriyama's work has been bad since the Boo saga.

Sounds very fanfiction-y to me.. I don't really like the idea but I'd still watch the series if that's what it came to. Though, it seems like something difficult to pull off.
